— About the studio
Building what
endures.
Forma Studio is a London-based practice working across architecture, interiors, and landscape. Since 2006, we have completed projects across four continents—each shaped by the same conviction: that a building's highest purpose is to make people feel more alive in the world.
— Our approach
We are, at heart, a studio of listeners. Every project begins with silence.
We work slowly and carefully. We take on few projects at a time, because we believe that attention is the most valuable resource a studio can offer a client. We do not hand off design to a production team. The same people who conceive a building are present when it is built.
Our process begins not with sketches but with questions—about how the light moves, how the land drains, what the neighbours remember about the site, what the materials are called in the local language.
